Description
MERRIMACK is one of the French combos that accomplished to play worldwide tours and that made a name for themselves in the scene over the French border, since their founding in 1994. "THE ACAUSAL MASS" bites, rages, hurts and destroys. MERRIMACK excelled themselves by introducing a milestone of orthodox and brilliant black metal and prove again that the black metal scene is able to give new impulses in 2012 far away from mainstream.

After the release of the last album Grey Rigorism, all of the band members left except for founding member Perversifier. The new line-up he's put together though is simply amazing; the drummer is a beast and new singer Vestal spits out some amazing vocals, reminding me a bit of Marduk/Funeral Mist's Mortuus. Still, the music is a little predictable, but still keeps a tension throughout the whole forty-seven minutes. With pretty nice artwork as well, this is a must have for every fan of some straight forward black metal! - Metal Rage4
