38 Years Ago: THE GUN CLUB release Death Party

THE GUN CLUB released the Death Party EP on this day in 1983.

Death Party was recorded by the short-lived trio of Jeffrey Lee Pierce, Jim Duckworth and Dee Pop with Jimmy Joe Uliana on bass (filling in for Patricia Morrison) and backing vocals by "Texas" Linda Jones, soon to be better known as Texacala from TEX AND THE HORSEHEADS.

Patricia wasn't on Death Party because she was in L.A. and we were (or in my case could quickly be) in NYC if memory serves. We recorded on the spur of the moment because a Tex and the Horseheads recording had fallen through and the studio time was booked.
